2019 Kia Optima Safety
Kia Motors, formerly known as Kyungsung Precision Industry, was a manufacturer of steel tubing and bicycle parts which eventually started manufacturing cars in 1974. The Kia Motors America was incorporated in the United States in 1992, and the first Kia-branded vehicle Sephia was sold in the US in February 1994.
The first-generation Kia Optima was introduced in May 2001. Optima offered a choice of manual or automatic transmission with a 2.5 L V6 engine, and the updated model was offered with a new 2.7 L engine, 4-speed automatic. The second-generation Optima was globally known as the Magentis, except in the US, Malaysia, and South Korea. Kia Optima was powered by a 2.0-liter Theta DOHC CVVT engine with a 4-speed automatic transmission. The updated Kia Optima made its debut at the 2008 New York International Auto Show. Kia Optima was redesigned in the third-generation and made its world debut at the 2010 New York Auto Show. In the fourth-generation, the plug-in hybrid variant was unveiled at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show.
2019 Kia Optima
The 2019 Kia Optima made its debut at the 2018 New York International Auto Show with several modifications regarding its look and performance and with additional standard safety features for all trims. These include:
- Forward Collision Avoidance Assist: Automatically applies the brakes to reduce speed on recognizing an imminent threat of collision.
- Advanced Driver Assistance System: Monitors the driver's behavior and alerts the driver with visual and audible cues on sensing that the driver's attention level has reduced. Kia has issued a warning that this system should not be substituted for safe driving as it may not detect all instances of inattentive driving practices or driver fatigue.
- Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist: Alerts the driver if the car shifts out of the lane, and automatically corrects the steering to get the car back into the lane.
Kia has made a lot of updates to its Optima model to ensure customer satisfaction and safety. The safety updates are made in all or many models of the Kia brand. The Kia Optima in Goldsboro is not the only model available with the dealers. The dealers also have in display the 2020 Kia Telluride, Kia K900, and the Kia Rio. Take a test drive and compare the safety features of the 2010 Telluride, Kia Rio and Kia K900 in Goldsboro with the Kia Optima.
